About The Crown
The Crown is a historical drama television series about the reign of Queen Elizabeth II, created and principally written by Peter Morgan and produced by Left Bank Pictures and Sony Pictures Television for Netflix. Morgan developed it from his drama film The Queen (2006) and especially his stage play The Audience (2013). The first season covers the period from Elizabeth's marriage to Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, in 1947 to the disintegration of her sister Princess Margaret's engagement to Group Captain Peter Townsend in 1955.

Season 1 (2016)
The first season begins with a 1947 royal tour of South Africa by King George VI and his family, including his daughter Princess Elizabeth and her husband Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. The season covers events up to 1955, including Elizabeth's accession to the throne after her father's death in 1952, her relationship with Prime Minister Winston Churchill, and the disintegration of her sister Princess Margaret's relationship with Group Captain Peter Townsend.
Season 2 (2017)
The second season covers the period from the Suez Crisis in 1956 to the retirement of Prime Minister Harold Macmillan in 1963 and the birth of Prince Edward in 1964. Major events include the marital difficulties of Elizabeth and Philip, the retirement of Prime Minister Anthony Eden due to ill health, the Profumo affair, and the birth of Prince Andrew.
Season 3 (2019)
The third season spans 1964 to 1977, including the two terms of Harold Wilson as prime minister and the introduction of Camilla Shand. It covers events such as the Apollo 11 moon landing, the investiture of Prince Charles as Prince of Wales, and the Queen's Silver Jubilee.
